About This Site
HansSteiniger.com is a comprehensive look at who I am
both professionally and personally. For the last
two years, I have been working for a small defense
contractor known as Arctic Slope Regional Corporation
(ASRC) Primus. Before Primus, I spent ten years
working for another Native Alaskan owned 8(a)
disadvantaged business called Integrated Concepts and
Research Corporation (ICRC). During my time at
both companies, I worked on a number of technical
research & development programs supporting several
government and military customers including the US
Army's Tank and Automotive Research, Development, and
Engineering Center (TARDEC), US Special Operations
Command (USSOCOM), the Department of Energy (DOE), and
the Federal Transit Administration (FTA).
An electrical controls engineer by trade when I began
working for ICRC in 2000, my role soon
expanded to include program management responsibilities
by the year 2003. As a program manager, I’ve
coordinated the efforts of a team of software engineers
as well as managed multiple local area subcontractors
performing a variety of support services from structural
design studies to metal and fiberglass fabrication to
technical report generation. My programs have
ranged in complication from the integration of leading
edge military technologies to full vehicle build
programs and
synthetic fuels testing conducted on military bases.
When I moved to Primus, I spearheaded the electrical
system and harness development for the Fuel Efficiency
Demonstrator (FED) Program, a fuel economy demonstration
vehicle that Primus designed and built from scratch. For more information on the individual programs I've
worked on, please click on my Professional Experience
link.
In my personal life, I'm a husband and father of two.
I'm also an avid sports fan and sports travel writer.
I spend much of my leisure time traveling to major
professional sports cities in North America visiting the
best sports pubs, bars, and restaurants en route to
attending a game in every NFL stadium (completed in
2009) and every NHL and NBA arena. My experiences
and recommendations are summarized on a variety of
sports travel sites that I've developed. I'm a
self-taught web designer and have taken up search engine
optimization as a hobby because I enjoy the technical
challenge each provides.
